Hi! I'm Stacey. 

I'm a yoga teacher (RYT 200 through Lucky Cat Yoga), a blogger for CAMP Tampa, and a future mental health counselor. 

I'm here with y'all to share my journey towards a more compassionate lifestyle through yoga, ayurveda, mindfulness, and other things. Thus the title of this blog: Ahimsa & Chill. 

Ahimsa is one of the yamas (which is one of the 8 limbs of yoga, as written by Patanjali), and it means nonviolence. Nonviolence towards others- including animals- in every sense of the word. Yoga has changed my life in so many ways, but primarily, it has changed the way I interact with the world around me. Now that I'm getting deeper into yoga, I want to share my journey with others. I hope you enjoy reading about it! 

The "chill" aspect is partly for humor and partly to reference the idea of balance. I used to be someone that did everything 110%- and that was good sometimes, but overall, it was detrimental to my mental and physical health. Now, even though I'm getting so immersed in this world of yoga and ayurveda, I know to approach everything with balance in mind. Basically, I just think we all need to chill the eff out.

I'll leave you with a word we use a lot in yoga, one that means "the light in me acknowledges and respects the light in you."
